My son was visiting from NYC this past summer. Both of my sons have been avid gamers and both have gone into the video game business. That is a good thing. The bad thing is it has taken them away from home and their mother and I bot miss them terribly. I have never been one for video games (I thought) but when Kevin was here I asked him about what he was into now...He introduced me to EVE and I have been an uber fan ever since.
The purpose of this blog is to assist us in tracking our tales. I hope you will find entertainment in the blog and maybe even encourage some of you to involve your own fathers or sons.
Thomasale was born in game about July 19, 2009. Things for me have not been quite the same since. I began as most in a trial membership but since my son was here to coach me through the first few sessions I quickly became engrossed. I was on my own in the beginning and didn't do much with him. He was quite a bit further along in game and I wanted to learn as much as I could on my own. I joined a mining corp and began the usual way mining and missions. I remember how excited I was when my ISK totalled over 1 million...ahh the simpler days.
I was surprised and disappointed at my corp mates reluctance to take chances and I am sure they were equally surprised by my cavalier attitude. I became disenchanted by their game attitude and wandered off on my own more and more. My skills were building and even though I lost ships I always had enough to keep on going. At one point my son lent me a grub stake as I was almost broke. I quickly repaid his 5 million ISK loan and continued my learning experience.
I will try to keep these posts brief but I do want to chronicle these adventures and have already fallen more than 5 months behind so I have alot of catching up to do
Until next time Fly straight or at least Fly safe...
